Manufactured by means of steam coagulation, the scouring sponge is rectangular and has a green and yellow colour. It consists of a sponge section made of cellulose, water, pigment and plasticiser, and an abrasive section made of abrasive loads, adhesive, synthetic fibres, latex and pigment. If used incorrectly, the sponge can damage delicate surfaces. It must be rinsed and wrung out after use and can be machine washed at 60°C using a standard laundry detergent.
